  • To publicize and promote farming practices.
  • To inform the non-farm public of positive contributions farmers make to protect and improve our natural resources.

  • To further demonstrate to farmers and non-farmers alike, the commitment of the Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Inc., Indiana Office of the Commissioner of Agriculture, and Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc. to the conservation of Indiana's natural resources.

Envirothon  is a competitive learning event for high school-aged students. Testing their knowledge of environmental resources including soils, water, forestry, wildlife and current environmental issues.

Envirothon builds awareness. It helps show tomorrow’s leaders the positive and negative effects that individual actions have on the environment. Youth who take part understand differences between renewable and nonrenewable resources, realize environmental interactions and interdependencies, and know who to turn to concerning environmental matters. Students have fun while becoming environ-mentally aware during the competition.
